Al Gore should actually be a hero. After all, who in their right mind would argue with a strong desire for a better living environment? I am no "environmentalist" but I will cop to enjoying clean air, good views, fresh water, all things made better by less pollution and more energy efficient means. I am no fown of the "Brown Cloud" of Denver or the air "quality" in Los Smogales...err, Los Angeles. I do not enjoy whiffing the exhaust of the monstrous 4x4 pick-ups that I sit next to in traffic each night during my commute home. It would be awesome to be able to have my windows down to enjoy the air.
Gore is working to make that possible. You would think I would have a high opinion of him and his work to save the earth despite minor oversights such as, which I wrote about a while ago, his energy usage about big enough to light Reno for a few nights...and I really don't hold that against the hypocrite. After all, he can use as much as he wants as long as he plants a few trees to reduce his "energy footprint" (insert eye-roll here."
But where Gore really shines is in his work to save endangered species...work like he does for the Chilean Sea bass...which, by the way, on top of being endangered is the meal served at his daughter's wedding....
Thanks, Al, for showing us all how to conserve. You the man!
