Life is precious. We only have so much of it. We do not want to waste it unless we choose what the wasting is for.
I have, in the past, voted against measures because of the idiots standing on overpasses. It causes traffic to slow to a crawl, gets things balled up for miles and makes me take an extra 15 minutes to get to work.
Seriously, do you think people are so soft-minded they will be swayed by you holding a sign during rush hour?
I do not know what you sign-people were working for or against today. I do not care, either. I just want you to go, go away.

This reminds me of a group of idiots on bikes who would block traffic at rush hour in San Francisco to push for - wait for it - better public transportation. It just made me want to drive by and push them off their bikes.
