My little niece is ill: here is the e-mail from my sis:

Went to the Dr./hopitals.Results of preliminary labs show a Urinary Tract Infection,possibly that has moved up into her other organs?The are not really sure yet. She has a very high white blood count in her urine.10-25,should be no higher than 1-5 on a bad day.Shes had a fever of 101-103 for 11 days now.It comes down with Tylenol for up to 2-3 hours.Dosage is 4 hours.Problem being that Tylenol can damage her liver.But fever can damage her brain and other organs.Very scary.She is also very week,listless,lacking her personality.She doesn't want to eat or play or 'read books' like usual.She doesn't want much of anything.When being held she just sort of lays limp.Its...difficult.Anyway your best wishes,thoughts,love and prayers are all appreciated.You'll understand if we don't answer the phones much while we wait for news from the Dr's. and their panelists and while we worry about our little girl.If she is admitted to the hospital tomorrow(Tuesday) we will be taking her to the best in the are for Children,were blessed to have great insurance.We'll take her to Lucille Packard at Sequoia if necessary.~Deb
