There are some things that should be known intuitively. There is no need for research to discover them.
For example; if you eat 10,000 calories a day and do not exercise, I do not need a study to realize you are going to weigh more than you should.
If you drive 100 mph at night with no headlights you are more likely to be involved in a serious accident than a person driving 35 mph with headlights.
There is really no need for a study. We know these things without needing to check. They are the height of obvious.
Apparently our schoolteachers are not that sharp.
It apparently required a study to "discover" that people who miss a lot of school end up having a hard time getting an education.
Suddenly those famous studies to see if cow flatulence is causing global warming seem pretty smart...
