And you thought street names were embarrassing...

A few days ago I mocked the English for their reasons for changing their street names.

It was easy, it was fun, and hopefully it was funny. But there may be something to the change names of embarrassing locations here in the U.S. (Thanks to Riot Kitty for the link).

I mean, who wants to live on Bust Head Road? Though that would be better than living in Flush Kansas. That is a suggestion, not a good name for a city.

Of course, Oregon is not without its own rather iffy place names. Though less sexual than most of those found in the article, think of how much fun it would be to call Rush Limbaugh from Liberal Oregon ( a small town on the way to Molalla).

Or to tell people you live in Oregon's Drain. There might be a drain elsewhere but Oregon is so wet our Mist requires the Drain. And it is Ranier here than there.

That reminds me of when I used to live in KY in Junior High and there were lots of "bottoms". I mean, how would you like to live in "Howard's Bottom"?? haha

*groan* too...many....puns.

Also, in response to JLee, Howard's Bottom in any other state other than "KY" would not be nearly as funny. :)

I just e-mailed you another great story with even better names! All British, of course...who wouldn't want to live in Pratt's Bottom? ;)

I wonder how "Pleasure House Road" ever got its name. ;) Another great one. :P
