In our double-header basketball games I made a slight, almost unnoticeable error. I wore some new shoes. Now, any real athlete can tell you that only a fool wears new shoes in any athletic competition. It takes time to break them in and keep bad things from happening. I also can tell you that though my resemblance to a real athlete is a lot like the disclaimer at the beginning of every movie: "The Athlete depicted in the following is fictional. Any resemblance to a real athlete is purely coincidental." I especially like it when they have a movie clearly designed to dig some politician...say, an aging former actor who starred in a football epic at a Catholic University, became President, had a wife who consulted astrologers, and is called Rondell Bragan. He ends up getting shot by a deranged street dude. Sounds "coincidental" to me...
Anyhow, back to the real point. I managed to pick up a heinous blister. On my pinkie toe. You know...where it rubs against the sock and shoe on every step I take. Quite pleasant I am sure.
So after a day of enjoying that experience I had the prudent idea to slap a band-aid on it. Herein lies the problem. The Goose and I are many things...movie aficionados, poker players, Xbox 360 fans...but one thing we are not and that would be well prepared for medical emergencies. Smurf, we aren't even prepared for basic medical stuff like...having band-aids.
Actually, that is not strictly true. She does have some small band-aid strips. You note the way I say "she". I am not, for whatever reason, genetically predisposed to enjoy Hello Kitty bandaids. I know, I know...I should be happy just to have two feet... but seriously, how would it feel to be me walking around with Hello Kitty plastered all over my toe? Hard to say...but I would like to take this opportunity to mention my walking is MUCH more comfortable today...and I feel extra manly.

Hey, if you can still feel manly while wearing Hello Kitty, that's saying something! ;)
