A lesson on why we shouldn't get involved

One common complaint is people do not get involved in helping others out. It is legendary the way car alarms are ignored when they go off, for example. But there is something worse than not getting involved in helping people who are, for example, being robbed. What is worse than not getting involved you ask? Easy. Getting involved.

Take the case of Neil Filer. This mail deliverer saw a woman being mugged by 2 others. For whatever reason...boredom, a sense of civic duty, seeing an opportunity to "go postal" on someone and it not be a bad thing...he got involved. He jumped in, waffled the bad guys with his mail bag in an attempt to rescue the woman...and it turned out to be a bad thing he did. I guess his first clue that he was doing the wrong thing was when the director yelled "Cut!" or maybe it was all the movie cameras that were rolling....

So the next time you are feeling civic minded just make sure you are interrupting a real crime and not a fake one for a movie...
