I'm gonna side with the park on this one...

Out in St. Helens, aka redneck country, there is a car racing track at the fairgrounds. It has been there for years. Many years. I actually cannot remember a time it was not there. It was put there because there were not a lot of people living out there.

Then came the housing boom of the mid to late 90s. Developments sprang up everywhere, including by the fairgrounds. Many, many new houses were built. People moved in. Then something strange happened. They started complaining about the noise over by the fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday nights...you know, the nights when the races were being run just as they had been for about 30 years.

News flash: if you build a house close to a race track that has races on Friday and Saturday nights...the odds are pretty good that Friday and Saturday nights are going to be noisy. I had and have no sympathy for the idiots complaining about the noise. You built your house next to a smurfing race track, genius!

I have a little more sympathy for the people who are complaining about the noise from a 30 year old theme park. After all, it is close to them...12 lanes of freeway are all that separate them from the piercing voices of people riding a new ride, the Screamer. Okay, so it is a new ride...I guess it makes sense that the yells from this one ride 12 lanes of highway traffic away worth worth complaining about.

(editor's note: previous sentence may contain sarcasm. It is entirely possible this writer finds the complainers to be complete and utter morons, although nothing is certain in this world. You will have to decide for yourself)
