Perhaps it is time to get out of the UN and give the tax savings back to the American workers who are having to skimp and sacrifice to pay the taxes (and gasoline).Yet our government bureaucrats and politicians think they can buy the friendship of these above who all think we are some of the dumbest suckers in the world.Pass this along to every taxpaying citizen you know.

The above is an e-mail I received in one of those circulate-to-everyone chains that are so popular. And on the surface it is indeed something to get angry over. But here are a few questions to consider:

1) Who compiled and verified these statistics?
2) What is meant by "votes against"; does that mean the U.S. voted to adjourn and they voted to continue? (or vice versa). Or was it a vote on whether the U.N. motto should be "Pointless and Proud of it" or "The U.N.: Doing nothing for World Peace since birth"? Or is it on serious issues?
3) How sure are you it is the U.S. that is "correct" in all those votes?

Now, truth be told, I am very much becoming against almost all foreign aid. Stop providing military assistance to everyone. Let them buy their own guns. Stop providing food assistance to others so they can save money to buy guns since we won't give the guns to them. Until they can afford to feed their people they can't afford to buy guns and I am sick of subsidizing it.

Come to think of it, I am sick of subsidizing a lot of things, both externally and internally.

Until everyone who wants one AND IS WILLING TO WORK FOR IT, whether it is a job they like or not has a home then no money should be disbursed outside our borders for housing.

Until everyone who is able to and is working has access to a good nutritional diet...and yes, an occasional nice meal, not just the cheapest foods on the market...then no money should leave our borders for food.

Until everyone in this country can afford to have legitimate medical needs...I would not include stuff like a nose job or gender reassignment, by the way...I mean legitimate HEALTH stuff...met then not one penny should cross the borders for medical aid.

And so forth.

Of course, the various groups living on entitlements would never stand for having their funds cut off, and heaven forfend we stop funding things that might be found immoral. I, for instance, am quite distressed my tax dollars are used to fund murder under the guise of "Planned Parenthood" and other federally and state funded murder factorie....err, abortion clinics. I think it is reprehensible that I am forced to pay for that, no less than I am outraged at paying for many of the things mentioned above where we pay countries outside our borders while we are unable to properly care for those same issues within our borders.

Taxes continue to be a bad joke on good people and a good joke on bad people. They also are never going to be "how they should be" so we will continue to get robbed of large portions of our livelihood to pay for the people and things who are unwilling to take care of themselves. Bah humbug.
