I would think in new marriages there is a certain learning curve as the newlyweds experiment a bit and try new ways to interact. Take food, for instance...who will prepare what to be consumed in which manner. This seems like a typical quote:
"At the beginning, they always fought and quarreled for food and I had to be the mediator all the time. But as time has gone on their relations have improved a lot.”
At least, it does until you realize they are talking about a pair of mini-pigs that got "married" in Taiwan, complete with parakeets for groomsmen and bridesmaids...kind of raises a whole new raft of issues, doesn't it?
