It's time for another Good Idea, Bad Idea, Volume 2

People in this country will kill each other over the strangest things. Hockey dads whacking each other over midget hockey...nicely done. I am sure your 5 year old stick wielding maniac will be proud of you when he grows up getting to tell people why pops is behind bars. Teenage kids stealing each other's play stations and killing each other over that. Probably a few over parking spots at the mall during the Christmas shopping season. For not making sandwiches when so ordered. For bringing warm beers.

But as fun and valid as those are, as good of reasons as those are, today we have found a new and better way to enter into eternity. Killing yourself to get a video game console.

Now, in the world of radio they are under constant pressure to come up with new exciting ways for people to embarrass themselves. And of course "Hold your wee for a Wii" sounds very clever (by the way, Wii is pronounced...you guessed it...weeee) in principle. And the contest is simple, cheap, catchy title, and so stupid it is embarrassing. Drink water at regular intervals until you can't hold your urine.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Now...not so much. She drank herself to death...but instead of the traditional alcohol, she did it by overwhelming her bodies' vital fluids with water. Good times.

Now, admittedly, this is a tragedy and only a jerk would laugh at this. I am not saying what I am...but I laughed so hard I peed myself.

I saw this story...the really sad part is that this isn't the first death related to people trying to get Wii.

Worth dying for? How fucking stupid is that?

The really sad part is that now the other participants are trying to sue the radio station because no one told them they were putting their lives at risk. Come on people. it's not rocket science. You gorge yourself on anything like that and there is a chance it will kill you. Water is probably one of the more dangerous ways to do it because it won't make you feel full the way that - for instance - a full size bratwurst would. I heard people talking about how this woman was really cool being willing to do whatever it took to get a Wii for her kids. If it was really a big deal, why not go out and buy it? They aren't hard to find folks. And at $250 a pop they are cheaper than pretty much any of the alternatives. This woman wasn't cool, she was stupid.
