I hope we never legalize marijuana

because if we do we might miss out on stuff like this.
Let's check in with the dude's theoretical internal monologue

"hahahahaha"
"ha"
"hahahahaha"
"hahaha...oh, smurf, the cops!"
thump thump thump go the footsteps.
officer: "What you have there, son? Looks like marijuana, about 2 pounds."
Oh, no...I can't get caught for possession. Hey...wait a second...what if...what if I said it wasn't mine? Yes, that could work.
"Yep, it's marijuana officer, but you can't touch me...it isn't mine, I stold it."

If drugs breed thinking like that why on earth would we not want them legalized?

You're assuming that if it were legalized, everyone would smoke it?

Alcohol does lots more damage, statistically. Marijuana just kills brain cells.

If we made it legal we'd at least take the drug ring violence out of the picture.

Yes, and prohibition was a failure. I mean under prohibition we had the horrible Valentine's Day Massacre in which a total of seven men were killed. An event that was considered so horrific by the standards of the day that it is still a famous event. Much worse than the 48 killed every day in alcohol related crashes. And that's just crashes, that doesn't take into account liver damage and other physical damage or alcohol related accidents not involving motor vehicles.

"Bradley Robison, 18, of Cedar Rapids, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp."

That's some great stuff too. "These drugs are illegal, and you didn't identify them with a stamp, so we're adding another charge against you."
