Ha ha ha that is funnier than dead funeral goers

Now, this is a very serious article with a lot of moral and ethical questions that have their roots in the God/evolution, religious morality versus social mores, and so forth. Which makes this even funnier.
"Barr first applied to gain OTC status for Plan B in April 2003. Later that year a scientific advisory panel voted 23-4 that the drug was safe and effective for non-prescription use."
Uhm...yeah...for the prospective mother, physically...not so much for the potential baby. Whatever terms you couch things like abortion, assisted suicide, euthanasia...the word "safe" should not be one of them. There never has been and never will be anything "safe" for all concerned parties when you take that path. There will, however, be gales of laughter from people like me for people like you that use them.

The company's arguments are pretty pathetic. "This was not handled in the typical manner." Well duh, it's not a typical drug. Most drugs are intended to provide some sort of benefit, whether it be alieviating arthritis pain or reducing your flu symptoms or the infamous "little blue pill." All this drug does is prevent life. To handle it in a "typical" manner would just show that the FDA is even more incompetent than we already knew it was. Also, a large part of the reason they want it OTC is because they don't want the embarrasement of having to ask their doctor for it. Well here's an idea, don't go around doing stuff that will cause you this sort of embarrasement and you won't have to worry about it. IDIOTS

Amen! Agree totally. Prevention will always be the best cure.

Funnier than a screen door in a submarine. (Saw the post title and had to put that in, sorry)
