A couple of issues arose today at work that, while easy to deal with and no big deal in the long run, were a little stressful. Additionally, I have not been sleeping well lately. In fact, after work but before school, in the time where I am usually studying to great effect, I slept rather uncomfortably for about an hour. My back is still thanking me for that one.
Well, class was...well, what Spanish class always is. Irritating, frustrating, confusing, etc. The last thing we did was listen to our homework for Monday. And, as per usual, I understood not one word she said and have no clue what the homework is. So I was a little preoccupied walking out of class.
I crossed the street, looked down the side road, saw nobody, started crossing it with my head down. Note to all my loyal readers; this is a stupid idea. When crossing a street, even a side road with a stop sign, PAY ATTENTION.
Suddenly I caught a glimpse from the corner of my eye and reached out just in time to get plowed by a guy choosing to do a California stop. Now, I am a big guy, but Jeeps are bigger. Hard as this is to believe, it was me who bounced off, not him. Huh, did not see that one coming.
The poor guy slammed on the breaks, probably ripped his breaks out pulling on the e-brake. By the time he got out, though, I was half-way down the block. He inquired after my health in some heavy accent I don't recognize, and I said I was fine.
A further note to my loyal readers; if this should happen to you, get a name and number anyway just in case. All I know is now my wrist and shoulder are throbbing and I am going to bed.
In the great scheme of things, this is pretty unimportant, but at the moment....I care.
