Google Blogger is stepping backward

I comment from time to time on a few blogs. I enjoy reading the blog, the comments, and responses to comments.

It used to be easy. You just clicked the subscribe by email tag when you commented and would then get responses via e-mail. Easy, quick, done.

But in their latest "update" they removed that feature. Now you have to manually go back and check. Time consuming and, if I do not visit a blog for days (much more common now) I often forget to do so.

Grr.

The much publicized/criticized/little understood privacy changes for their e-mail do not particularly bother me.

This does. Because it actually has a negative impact on my blog interactions.

Boo on you Google.

They seem to keep making changes for the worse, that's for sure.

It's funny, but say you still had the word verify turned on for you blog and now you want to turn it off.

You can't do it under the new dashboard. You actually have to go back to the old dashboard and disable it that way, then recovert all over again.

I do not like the new mods. On the other hand, how much right do I have to complain about a free service? Sigh. A conundrum

I keep going back and forth between my liking of Blogger, and wondering if one day I'll ever make the jump to Wordpress. Sometimes I just wonder why Google/Blogger makes certain decisions -- who on earth thinks this is a great feature? :-)
