For several years there is a song I have been trying to complete writing a song. It is multi-faceted, but the ones that matter for those who will most likely never hear it...which, in truth, I always thought included me...are these:
Naming your child means something and that meaning is very deep. Naming the kid for a television program character or with some weird, bizarre name to "differentiate" them is not a good move.
Well, as I am frantically trying to complete writing a series of songs for the new singing group I am trying to develop, that one has once more come to the fore. The problem is there are lyrical problems with the song I have never been able to work out.
Well, Dad agreed to help out a little bit. So Saturday, he sat there and in about two minutes had cleaned up the verbiage and come up with a tune. I literally heard about three years of effort come alive.
It was awesome. To hear my work turned from "great idea, bad execution" to something that I am very happy to be on the verge of hearing sung beginning to end. Hearing it come alive was awesome.
Probably more awesome to me than anyone else...but still, super awesome.

Yay! When can I hear it?
at some point I hope it will be performed by the group, though at least a couple months away. It still needs a lot of work, but to actually HEAR something was very exciting
