Quite possibly the WORST Trivia calendar...EVER

Since the Trailblazers have cleaned up their act, gotten rid of the trailer park trash dope smoking dog fighting fiends that once populated their roster and retrenched with guys who are good citizens I have been following the team a bit more closely. So when I saw a 2008 desk calendar for 4 bucks I went ahead and snatched it.

You know the kind...every day there is a little factoid or trivia, you rip it off and throw it away to reveal the next day.

And I knew it was official merchandise since it has both the Blazers logo and the official NBA logo.

I think I can say without reservation selecting this instead of the Dilbert one next to it was a huge mistake. And I am not even a Dilbert fan...that is an occasionally funny strip but all too often it is just repetitive and drivelish.

Examples:

One question was along the lines of, "Who led the NBA in rebounding in 1954?" Answer: Nobody, that wasn't kept as a statistic until 1957.

Wow, thanks for nothing.

Or this trivia: "Ron Knight scored the first field goal in the history of the Blazer's Franchise. He made a basket with 8:25 remaining in the first quarter of Portland's first game, played October 16, 1970."

Okay, that is actually a pretty interesting tidbit as trivia goes. Too bad the trivia for October 16th is "Who surpassed Wilt Chamberlain as the NBA's leading scorer?" I mean, why would you NOT follow their example and have trivia about October on August 4th?

Sadly, that was the second time they did that. In late July they had a question about March.

I guess the people who put this calendar together are not the dumbest people alive though...they never bought this craptacular lack of effort excuse for a daily calendar. Then again, that is a mistake I will never make again either.
