Wait...isn't that just New York?

Continuing our theme of brilliantly themed restaurants, let's check out the Polish entry into the genre. At the Spartan Milk Bars (yes, it sounds like a candy bar), "The staff are rude, the food is awful and the service is non-existent. It's just like it used to be," said one delighted customer.

Now, I know people sometimes get nostalgic for the "good old days" or, in this case, the "bad old days" which somehow become the good old days even though they were bad...so it is good to be bad and bad to be good apparently...I am confused.

But it does make me wonder if New York was founded by Poles. What other city in the world takes so much pride in their rudeness? Or maybe the people actually don't...maybe it is just the movies, television shows, and commercials that make it look that way. Maybe it is a hyperbolic stereotype engendered to keep people away. If so, it worked on me. Now if I could just come up with such a plan for Oregon to keep anyone not here out.

Jlee, isn't it the truth? we like where we are but a changing make-up of people can change our liking for the place. how unfortunate.
