A few days ago the local paper (taking their policy as my own, I have elected not to publish any titles that some people might find offensive...and a paper as crappy as the Oregonian is certainly offensive) published an article about team names and how they are changing to become less offensive. One change was from Indians to Outlaws.
Yes, their is a step up. How is "outlaws" considered a good name? "OOh, let us celebrate your violation of societies mores which are in place to provide safety for all of us, some sort of protection so we can live our lives without fear. But you stop that by pillaging, plundering, killing, raping...and we love you for it!"
Pirates, Buccaneers, Raiders...yeah, those are some good names there, NFL. Thanks for choosing inoffensive names.
Actually, thanks to people making mountains of molehills...but only going part way.
