more wedding pics

Ah, what better thing is there at any wedding than the cake? The real travesty here? With the anticipation, stress, fun, enjoyment, tension, and whatever else goes along with a wedding...what couple gets to enjoy the cake? Sure, I tasted it...but barely.

The flowers were gorgeous. You can probably see that yourself.

On the bottom left you see my brother in law Gabe, married to the youngest of my sisters, Deb, whose baby is seen in the prior post. Gabe is also the photographer of most of the pictures you have seen so far.

On the bottom right we see Bob and his wife. It was wonderful of them to come...they are also vaguely related. My youngest brother, Phillip, is married to their daughter Tracy.

And in one of the "fun" stories of how a wedding comes together...If you know Emily and her Mom Nancy, you know the wedding was planned months in advance. Our location was booked over a year in advance, as was the honeymoon location, the plane tickets were purchased within an hour of going on sale, the dj, photographer, cake, etc., were all lined up months in advance....as was the preacher.

We were having a hard time gettting a hold of him, however, to go over the final order of service. Finally, the Sunday prior to the wedding we caught up with him at church. I told him I had been trying to call him to go over the order of service...and he responded with that deer in the headlights look that let me know he had completely forgotten.

Emily of course was panic stricken...I told her not to worry, I grew up in a preacher's home. I would be able to find a replacement within 2 days, guaranteed. Well, for lunch a group of us...Emily, me, Phillip & Tracy, Kenneth & Stanica, the Wrubleskis...and as soon as Bob found out what was going on he offered to perform it if needed. Inside of an hour we had a replacement in place which we were able to use because they were on vacation for the summer and therefore had the day free. It was an incredible blessing and Bob did an incredible job. I will be forever greatful for his coming to our rescue.
