Fortunately, they live forever

I admit I like my mobility. Though I am not the athlete I once was, i cannot conceive of the pain I would endure if I were to no longer be able to walk around, at least.

I guess yeah, that is a case where I, like the hero of our story, would endure multiple operations regardless of the expense and doubtful nature of their success. I would totally be like, "Yes, take heroic measures, please, if at all possible, save my leg!" Much like the Mills family, I would not hesitate to take out a loan, go without vacations, live on a tight, tight budget if I thought I could save my leg. I really like walking.

I might even agree with Vicky Mills who said, "She's worth every penny. I've not had a holiday this year because of the ... bills. But I love her to bits and it would break my heart if anything happened to her."

Of course, the odds are pretty high that if I took out a loan for these surgeries, skipped vacations, ate horribly, and was happy about it, there is one area I would differ from Mrs. Mills; I wouldn't be talking about work done to save the leg of a chicken.

This part scares me:

Three-year-old Lily sleeps on a cushion in the kitchen of their house in Cwmbran, South Wales, and has free run of the back garden.
