The hypocrisy of honesty

One of the memes of relationships today is women seeking men who will be honest. The truth is...that might not really be what they want. Here is a hypothetical conversation the way she might want it:

She: "I see you are looking at me with adoration."
He: "Yes, I am dazzled by the brilliance of your mind, the empathy of your soul, the compassion of your heart, the wonderful, caring personality that you possess. Additionally, I find you the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, though truth be told I barely notice your physical beauty because your personality is so beautiful it is really all I need."

Here is a typical conversation the way it might take place.

She: "Hey, mister. My face is up here. Eyes up, please."
He: "Sorry, I was lost in thought, did not mean you to think I was looking at your breasts."

Here is a typical conversation the way it might take place if he were honest.

She: "Hey, mister. My face is up here. Eyes up, please."
He: "Yep, your face is up there, but these are much more attractive."


So already we see why honesty might not be all it is cracked up to be.
