How bad are the Rolling Stones? Putting aside the fact they should be playing shuffleboard, not rock concerts, at their age. Put aside they were the perennial Ed McMahons to the Beatles. Put aside we assumed people that old were either in wheel chairs or on life support. And their music, unlike them, has not aged well. Whenever one of their classic anthems comes on I change the station if able and if not try to blot it out with more pleasant images...anything from one of the slow-motion head exploding shots from Platoon to checking out grisly remains of a 17 car head on crash. Those are far more enjoyable than even the best of the Stones.
Who says so? Not just me. Horses at Stones concert venues have to be sedated.
But I think the manager of the venue, Jovanka Prelic, said it best: "We are not too worried, although it is not ideal, but they survived NATO bombings so I guess they will survive the Rolling stones, and in any case, we will give them drugs to make sure they do not get too upset."
Yes, listening to the Stones has been compared to being bombed. Prelic, I am forever in your debt for this insight.
