Dirty pool. Much like the dishonest, low down, sneaky, immoral tactics we are about to be discussing.
Anyone with a sense of morality should be angered and outraged when any public official, individual, group, etc. deliberately misleads, lies, twists the truth, or any similar activity. If your position is so precarious that you must lie and defraud to retain it then you need to at the very least rethink if not completely change your position.
Note that it is entirely possible to rethink your position, even a precarious one, without changing it. I have rethought my position on virtually every aspect of my life. Sometimes I change it, more often I don't but I like to think i am at least honest about it.
Not so with the sneaking, lying pieces of filth regarding this debate. I am having a terrible time wrapping my brain around the legitimacy of the argument that "Telling the truth is just saying what a particular group wants us to believe. We are better off lying."
I am sure by now I have your attention and it is well that I do because this is one of the most pathetic bits of chicanery in U.S. political and moral battles in the last 2 centuries. This lays with the Darwinism that justified subjecting "free: blacks to lynchings, separations, etc.
So let's look at a few quotes, all found here:
If five medical experts say that the fetus is a human being the same as you and me, and testify in detail to prove it, then why shouldn't the state protect it like the rest of the human race?
I shall," Cassidy promised, and then finally said that abortion providers should be required to tell patients that the embryo or fetus "is a member of the species homo sapiens, that you're terminating the life of a member of the species." He concluded, "many women go through with the procedure anyway, and they do better later if they weren't deceived."
"Set aside the philosophical and theological issue at the periphery of this case," about the human status of the fetus, Justice Barry Albin asked.
While admittedly the last quote is out of order, these things demonstrate a powerful point. Medically speaking a life has begun. Nobody questions (and there is a powerful quote in there) that unless you do something drastic, in 8 - 9 months a baby will be born. There is no question in anybodies mind that a life is being ended.
However, to admit what this really means is to somehow only be speaking what the "religious" side wants? Oh, I am so sorry for wanting the truth to be spoken. Yes, I can see how speaking the truth is just political and religious manipulation. And people wonder why of all the interest groups out there I reserve my particular scorn for the ACLU. Because for every good thing they do they break loose one of these where allowing medical fact to be spoken they don't get their way. Wagh. Boo hoo. Take your brief case and go home.
If this is not a case of putting politics before the good of people I don't know what is. I find it unconscionable that someone would fight so hard to prevent people from being told the truth. Taking a page out of an extremist whackos book, so sorry that you find this to be an inconvenient truth. Just admit that you are more interested in politics than truth and lets call it a day.

The ACLU would represent you if your employer or school interfered with your religion. They've represented the far left, the far right, and the middle. Please don't dismiss them so easily.
