It is a cherished belief that as people age they become wiser. We have respect for the elderly because their experience, learned patience, and bank of knowledge they do not act rashly and usually have the answers to our questions.
That is, they do not act rashly as long as you don't contradict them on James Brown's height...a matter of some dispute. If you do that then being 62 or 70 years old doesn't matter....gunshots will be fired.
At least it was over something important....
