Yesterday was the best snowfall we have had in several years. It was beutiful to watch falling...not so fun to drive in. So many fun incidents from yesterday....
Like the wonderful man who, when an errant throw from a snoball fight amonst soome pre-teens struck his car, felt compelled to stop his car, get out and confront them. And when they mocked him he took the only option available...no, not getting in his car and moving on with his life, don't be ridiculous...I said the ONLY option available...not realizing these were young kids doing what young kids do and ignoring them...why are you not listening? I said he took the ONLY option available to him...he stabbed a 7 year old kid. Of course he did. Well done. Enjoy prison, hope it was worth it, you moron. After all, they DID strike your call with a snowball. Who knows what damage was done? That kid was lucky to get off with just a stab wound.
Or the guy in the SUV, foot planted firmly on the accelerator as he was ping-ponging off a variety of vehicles, caught on tape by an ever vigilant teacher. That was fun.
Or the superintendant who, ever conscious of the safety of his students, personally went to take them off the bus and drive them home...only to get in an accident himself. Well done.
Or the TWENTY-THREE reported sledding accidents...okay, I will be the first to admit that sledding is fun. But have some intelligence about it...do it somewhere...oh, I don't know, maybe somewhere you won't be running your sled under moving vehicles? Is that really too much to ask?
But the real reason is their response to people interested in safety. Several people chose to park by the side of I-5 and walk. They thought maybe it was better to be safe than get in an accident. I applaud that choice. I respect it. And I don't get the city...which decided "here is a cash cow we cannot afford to overlook" and promptly had those vehicles towed at owner's expense leading to fees of over 230 bucks to retrieve your vehicle...assuming you get it the first day because they charge you storage for each additional day. There is your reward for trying to be safe....
Well done Portland. City officials proving once again safety is their first concern. How many people do you think will get in accidents next time because that risk is less to them than the risk of the !@#$% down at City Hall charging them again? So the city will be yet a little more dangerous...and I applaud the people who do that next time. Screw the danger...the city will rape you if you try to be safe, so instead of parking, try to make sure when your car careens out of control that if you have to hit someone, hit some city official. And as their broken, mangled body lies bleeding on the snow, spit on them and say, "I am going to have to charge you for the ambulance."
Just one more reason I was laughing so hard I almost drove off the road at the sight I saw yesterday. On the corner of Murray and Walker a car had lost control and spun into the curb. So the pig patrol parked his car across the 2 lanes with his lights on so nobody could get across to strike the other car. Some moron tried to turn onto Murray anyway...and T-boned the cop car. Allow me to express my dearest wish...that the cop was seriously, seriously injured. Here's hoping.

Hey, it was actually a 17-year-old, which is still terrible, but since when you do hate Portland?
