Hmm...well, I still laughed

Family lore includes the story of Dad, as a young preacher, performing his first wedding ceremony for his brother Ken. Now, those of you who know Dad...or me...know that we are willing, able, and probably have joked about...well...everything, including but not limited to weddings. In fact, Dad frequently will jokingly compare them to funerals....which he also, according to family legend, accidentally did during the ceremony.

Fortunately our expanded family has the same lame sense of humor so it was funny.

Not so for Tina Albrecht. She must have some Barton family genes because when she was asked the ceremonial question along the lines of "Do you, Tina Albrecht, take this man as your lawfully wedded husband" she cracked a Barton-like joke... and said, "I don't". Problem is...that put in force an Austrian law and kept them from getting married for 10 weeks.

She now says that maybe it wasn't as funny as she thought at the time...I think it is funnier. At least they didn't do anything like let common sense or the spirit of the law override the letter of the law and let the funeral proceed.
