Blogging a poker tourney

Just got home here on New Years Day and while I was waiting for my roommates to finish cooking checked my e-mail, bopped onto pokerstars.net to see if my button picture was up yet...and saw a sit & go tourney so thought I would drop in and play.
It is 9 person tournament...I got seated in my favorite seat, so that is cool...and hit my first hand to become chip leader. Sat back, got no cards for 3 or 4 hands, then caught pocket 10's.
I played them somewhat aggressively...we were pot limit so I raised the pot...everyone stayed in. Whatever. On the flop it was K/8/4 so I bet the pot again. Sure enough, someone had stayed in with 8/4 off-suit and paired them both. Oh, well.
A few hands later I caught Anna Kournikova (A lot of people call an Ace/King either Big Slick..the most common...or Santa Barbara, but I like the phrase "Anna Kornikova"...you know, it looks good, just doesn't win anything.) Sure enough someone caught the pocket rockets. Fortunately I did not stay in when the flop missed me completely.
The fourth hand I played I had 9/10 off-suit. The flop paired my tens, gave me both flush and straight flush draws so I stayed in and hit trips 10's on the river to retake the pot.
Meanwhile, the guy with the pocket rockets caught the Cowboys, a straight and a boat amongst the hands I have been sitting out. 2 people have busted out, 2 are sitting out, and 2 are under 300 chips (we started with 1500...I have 2025, one guy has 3375, and while I was writing this another got all the way to 4445.)
Short stack doubled up through the chip leader when c-lead had a straight and shortie caught the boat on the river while all-in. Nice.
Caught A/Q ogg suit. Flop was King, 9, 3, one guy raised, I had a feeling, checked to the flop, caught my Queen, bet...and they folded.
Caught 2 pair buit someone else caught a higher pair and I took a hit. Dropped me to short stack of those playing, 4th of 6 left.
Pocket queens, bet every step as nothing came on the board, he stayed with NOTHING and rivered me. Aaaagghh...
For the first time I have less than I started with, so now I play carefully and tight.
Pocket 8's, caught flush on river, bet into it, he folded.
J/5 off-suit...folded. Would have hit a straight on 4th street...if I had stayed in that long.
6/9 off-suit...folded. 3 more before the blinds hit me again. Nobody stayed, did not see flop.
10/3 off suit. folded. would have had nothing, someone hit trips 5s.
K/5 off-suit, folded.
bb, 9/6 off suit, check, bet to the river w/2 pairs...and split the pot with 9/6.
sb, folded.
q/8 off suit, folded. blinds to 150/300. someone had pocket q's & took a bundle with 2s & 4s paired on the board, people bet into it.

6/4 off-suit, folded.
K/2 off suit. Folded. lots of callers on this one., including chip lead who has been very quiet. He is waiting for the h2h.
K/7 off suit, folded.
Q/3 off suit, check the bb, fold first bet when flop missed me.
Called sb with 10/j off, flop was 5,6,7 folded to first bet
A/5 off suit, called to the 3 way pot, flop missed me, folded. someone had pocket pair.
9/3 off-suit, folded.
A/9 off suit, folded when raise before got to me.
Hit K/J suited, hit the Alabama Night Riders on the flop, went all-in....and someone else had Bad Slick to bust me. Worst tournament performance I have ever had... sad face goes here. Oh, well, life goes on and it was a good learning experience. I played too loose early and it cost me.
