when headlines promote division

http://news.monstersandcritics.com/uk/article_1172321.php/London_Muslims_angry_at_bungled_anti-terror_raid

The headline reads "London Muslims angry at bungled anti-terror raid". How about this; "Drew angry at Muslim world for terror bombings, hostage situations, threats, and oppression".
Yeah, it DOES look like they blew the raid. Then again, I wonder about the "innocent actions" of the suspect: remember, the police are expecting to find terrorists; if you know me, you know how I feel about the police. I am far more likely to contribute to the defense fund for someone accused of shooting a cop than contribute to the fund for the cop's medical bills. Still, I am open minded enough to look at it from their point of view: they are raiding a place they have been told is preparing a chemical weapon for yet another attack on them; that makes these suspects potentially lethal. Now, in the following circumstances, what are the odds someone is going to make a suspicious move:
"'To us they were just burglars, to us it was pitch dark, just lights and guns everywhere,' Kalam said of the police operation."
Of course, I am a little hazy on the exact situation: it was "pitch dark" with "lights...everywhere". So apparently the lights were covered with pitch or something...or they were real low level...
To be fair, the statistics make it look like there is some discriminatory stuff going on. Then again, what we don't see in the statistics is whether over all searches are up, what percentage of the searches find things, stuff like that...
What we do see is a country in trouble with groups becoming cliqueish, identifying under religious (and racial) banners rather than nationalist ones, police with the appearance of racism, faulty intelligence, and an intelligence system working hard to prevent rather than try to explain another bombing...coincidentally carried out by...you guessed it, Muslims.
Sure, it is a stereotype with more inaccuracies than accuracies...but the fear is real, the fear is reinforced by constant media depictions of angry, militant, threatening Muslims, and as such the stereotype becomes real and is reality for those in contact. Beware what you watch and read because you become it, like it or not.
