You need to cease advancing

Imagine if someone came to you and said, "Your children are well enough off. They have all the tools they need to get by in today's world. Oh, sure, they will never have enough money to buy a nice car. And certainly they will struggle with heating bills because they will be unable to afford the latest, cheapest, and most efficient means of heating their rooms.
But the truth is, they are inner city kids. As such, we can only assume if we allow them the technological benefits other kids have, they will only use those advantaes to purchase guns and run around shooting each other and us. So not only are we not going to help you with your heating issues, we are going to suppress them. We don't believe you are capable of raising intelligent, productive members of society. All you are capable of is raising killers, gangsters and murderers.
Additionally, not only are we going to not contribute to your quest for knowledge and a better life for your family, if we see you making strides on your own that see you are getting better educated and more able to deal with your problems, we will call the police who will then harass you unmercifully and actively work to inhibit your improved educational state."
