Don't look for things that aren't there

The Holocaust was indeed a horrible and painful experience. There was no justification for it. There is no doubt several million people were killed. This has even been admitted by Eichmann (Eichmann in Jerusalem, Hannah Arendt, a truly moving book that you should read) prior to his execution for his part in it.
However, the arguments in the referenced article are a bit silly. It was bad enough without making it worse. There were millions of other people who participated. The Russians committed some of the worst massacres...ignoring them does not add honor or change the truth of what happened to the Jewish victims.
Furthermore, cracking Gibson as anti-Semitic for the Passion of the Christ is like saying anyone who says the blacks were primarily slaves in the United States in the 19th century is racist...acknowledging a historical truth does not equal anti-anybody.
Challenging a man for his Fathers beliefs is a pretty cheap tactic and the person who uses it is unworthy of debate.
I have no particular feeling one way or the other about Mel Gibson, but I totally despise unwarranted attacks. This is a case where that is what is happening and it is time people step back and see reality.

What relevance does Gibson's belief or non-belief in the Holocaust have anyway? And this guy is really grasping at straws to say that Gibson is anti-semetic from the quotes given.
