Yesterday MSN had a news article about how a record setting 1 in 35 adults is incarcerated. That is a scary statistic. Are that many people really criminal or is something in our system out of whack?
Well...here is a compelling argument it is the latter...

A 30 year low crime rate...juxtaposed in more people by far being jailed...something does not add up.

We incarcerate more people than any industrialized country. It's ridiculous - more than half are in for nonviolent crime.
But prison is a growth industry.
