Another sign of genius

Sometimes I feel like my body is breaking down at an unbelievable rate of speed. I have foot problems, I guess the early stages of arthritis, my arm hurt pretty bad the other day, my wrist has been tender for weeks...clearly, a week or two of rest would do me a world of good. So what did I do tonight?
Well, a guy advertised on c-list that he was looking for softball players. I have not played in years, but I went out to see how it was. At first it was mostly fielding. I had not had a glove on in years. I had forgotten how much fun there was positioning myself correctly, anticipating where the ball was going based on pitch location, batter stance, and their swing...I used to be really good at that. And I could feel it coming back.
Then it was my turn to bat. I had not swung the stick in...oh, I don't know...15 years? Well, I must have fallen off a bicycle last night because I was right back into it. The first swing I took I just drilled the ball about as far as I ever did.
Got in a little bit of switch hitting, and I am still more accurate from the left side and can really hit the ball on a line. For sheer power, though...right hand is where it is at.
And I have to say...it felt good. Watching the ball, timing my swing...my timing was off, but no so bad that I embarrassed myself. My fielding clearly is not what it once was...and frankly, will probably never be again...but it felt good.
Of course, now my arm is sore and I have a tinge of regret...mostly for being late to meet my brothers and Eric...but that was fun. Hope I make the team.

Don't worry about being late. We only missed the first 20 minutes or so of Smackdown! and that part is usually lame anyway. Glad you had fun at the softball thing.
