Sleep, where is thy victory?

After going to Batman Begins, my friends Michelle and Sean went to Moonstruck with me. We had a pleasant evening discussing various topics. At some point, hopefully in the near future, Michelle and I plan to collaborate on a kids book featuring Native Americans. We chatted about that for a bit.
We also discussed her first day as a volunteer, at least in this endeavor. She is working with the girl scouts to transport girls to visit their mothers in prison. The family connection is pretty important and I think it is a really good thing they are doing.
Of course, Sean and myself being present, numerous bad jokes worked there way into the conversation. Perhaps a good joke or two entered the fray, but if so it probably died of loneliness.
At the tail end of the night I came home to go to bed, really on the edge of exhaustion. That was 8:3o or 9. I had a couple e-mails to respond to, then laid down.
It is hot out tonihgt. Humid, too. That means Mr. Winken, Blinken, and Nod are having a tough time rowing their boat upstream to visit me. Now it is a couple hours later and I am still exhausted and still unable to sleep. How much fun is that? Not very.
But don't cry for me, Argentina. I have a bed to sleep in, a roof over my head, food in my belly, and tomorrow is another day. This is just random thoughts trying to ease my mind into full restful mode. Why do I feel compelled to post it? Because, although I really hope to build a readership, I sort of hope I don;t. After all, this site is about me and my thoughts...I have posted notes about my research project, notes about things that bother me...in general, I reveal more personal insights here than anywhere else, including personal conversation. And that is probably not wise.
