Fun, Friends, and I think I need a defibrillator

Sometimes simple things are the best. For the past few weeks my brother has been coming and for the last couple weeks our friend Eric has joined him. We more or less "watch" Smackdown and play cards.
Usually we get a pizza, drink a soda or two, and just...hang out.
In my life I have done some things that took a lot of money. Heaven knows how much money Andrea and I spent on trips to Disneyland, Disneyworld, Las Vegas, the Bahamas, and many more places. She tended to prefer nights out on the town to nights at home. That was fine for then. Nowadays, without her pushing for it, I seldom take those trips...and I don't miss them.
Instead I find joy in nights like tonight. I think I played 6 or 8 games. I don;t know how many I won or how many I lost. Nor do I care. The wins and losses were not important. It was hanging out with people I like and enjoying the time.
I hope I never lose that sense of the "real". TV is nice, movies are wonderful, and I still love theme parks...but people are the bottom line.
Now if only someone had told me my sister and her husband were in town...
