First I get chills. I start..how do I say this politely...having a mouth full of mucus and less appealing material.
Then I get a blinding headache. Then chills.
Agh, the joys of being me.
So it started at work. Got so bad that it physically hurt just to pick up the smallest thing.
Oh, I know, I know...normal people would go home sick. I, being me, just kept telling myself, "just stick it out 'til lunch." Then, "just 4 more hours...just 3:59....just 3:42 left," and so forth until finally it was time to go...actually, slightly past time as I HATE leaving stuff undone so I actually stayed a few minutes over.

The ride home was horrible as well. I had my heat cranked all the way up and still was shaking with cold. When I got home, it was straight to bed, taking off just my shoes. It was so ridiculous....I had on a t-shirt, plaid shirt, sweatshirt, coat, and two layers of blankets and was still shaking will chills.
It really, really hurt to move. How much? I actually watched part of a Sex and the city episode because I thought it would be less painful than moving.

I was wrong.
So I changed the channel and paid the price of shivering and aching for about 15 minutes which, ironically, was about 3 minutes less than the pain of that horrific show would have lasted. *sigh*
I tried to go to work this morning. I actually showered and went into the kitchen to make my lunch but the blast of chilly wind from the fridge (yeah, I know...under normal circumstances you don't notice any chill from a fridge...that is kind of the point) let me know it would totally not be worth it. I would be completely miserable and get very little done.
Sadly, it was more the second than the first that made the difference. If I were able to work, I totally would have. Instead, I had a very unproductive day of laying around alternating between nasty chills and a splitting headache.
On the bright side, the fever seems to have broken. Ace CNA and nurse student the Goose, using her trusted Hello Kitty thermometer, saw it was down to 99 something or other, an acceptable level, and the chills seem to be gone, so tomorrow I should be back on the beam. I hope. Because I hate being sick. I suppose you could say...I am sick of it.

Just great... After spending a few hours of driving around with you. I got something to look forward too. Thanks bud :-P
Aww, feel better! It's not "unproductive" to recuperate!
I loved this line:
