For no apparent reason...

Dad got along with his Dad (my Grandpa for those with a poor grasp of familial relationships), perhaps that being one reason I get along so well with my own Dad. I saw that example. I mean, how could I miss it? We did so much stuff together.

Like the time we went fishing out at the Trojan Nuclear plant. They used to stock their ponds with fish...for the more cynical, perhaps to keep us from notincing the three-eyed and/or glowing fish. :-)

So when I was about 4 or 5, we went out there to fish, Dad, Grandpa and I. Presently something extremely rare in my life occurred...I actually CAUGHT a fish.

It was not a praticularly large fish. It was not a particularly beautiful fish. But it was a fish. As everyone gathered around, excited over my first catch, I looked at my prize and said...

"It's too little and too ugly. We'll have to throw it back."

That is the end of the story. Hopefully it brought a smile to your face. I know it brought a smile to ours because it entered the extended family lexicon. Even today, some 35+ years later you will still occasionally hear an Aunt or Uncle use the phrase, generalyl directed at me. Ironic, since I am in no way little. We can discuss the ugly :-)
