Every so often I forget how crappy they taste and get the urge for some Burger King French Toast sticks.
I happen to love French Toast. I like to experiment when I personally make it...mix in some honey, some vanilla extract...mmm...lip-smacking good. There is just something about putting too much butter on hot french toast, watching it melt in, drizzling some good old Knotts Berry Farm Boysenberry syrup on top...see, I drooled a little bit there.
Compare that glorious goodness to 5 crunchy things that look vaguely like over sized French Fries and taste like glorified leftover pit stains from Selma's blouse. No, I have never sampled the pit stains in Selma's blouse, it is just a metaphor indicating a food quality that is somewhat less than wholesome.
Anyhow, when they sound good it seems like a good idea so off to the King I go. Lo and behold, there on their dollar menu I see a 3 piece for a buck. For mere moments I consider it. But I see their regular order is only $1.99 so I sucker for that. I mean, my theory is simple. Sure, they taste pretty bland and I am not an overly huge fan of maple syrup. But bulk is always cheaper per unit, right?
Only to find that size has 5 pieces. For 1 more penny I can double my syrup acquisitions and add a piece. And though I can take or leave maple syrup...it DOES make their French Toast sticks about 10 times better. So more syrup is a good thing.
I was ripped off. I am going back tomorrow with a penny. I want my other stick and thing of syrup. I don't really want to eat it. I mean, I just had some. I have not yet forgotten what they taste like so I still realize it is a horrible idea to actually eat them. But it is the principle of the thing.
Kind of like Iron Man (2008). The previews look TERRIBLE. But A) it is a comic book/super hero movie, B) It is smurfing Iron Man, one of my favorites, and C) compared to Baby Mama (2008), Deception (2008) or any of the other drek (Forbidden Kingdom (2008) excepted...that one ROCKED) in the theatre right now, how bad can it be? I will see it opening weekend just on principle.

We are playing Summerfield. It is a pretty soft course, looks like a 116
