The following is an e-mail I received. As with all e-mails, I like to read it, think about it, and make a decision for myself. This one I find highly intriguing. Follow up after:
"Nobody is interested in solutions if they don't think there's a problem. Given that starting point, I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous (global warming) is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are..."
former Vice President Al Gore(now, chairman and co-founder of Generation Investment Management-- a London-based business that sells carbon credits)(in interview with Grist Magazine May 9, 2006, concerning his book, An Inconvenient Truth)
A must take test. Very informative!
Subject: Global warming test
This test is worth taking as much for the explanation of the answers as the answers themselves. Not exactly what CNN, CBS, and ABC have been telling you on the nightly news. Remember, Al Gore invented the Internet, too.
How smart are you with regard to global warming?

So did you take the test? Did you find it shocking? I actually didn't. I got each one correct because it is something I have done a lot of research on. With that said, here is an interesting quote from a man whom I cannot conceive of circumstances conspiring to let me vote for:
Here it is from News From Me, a weblog by Mark Evanier
John McCain said something in yesterday's debate about Global Warming that I thought was very wise...
Suppose that climate change is not real and all we do is adopt green technologies which our economy and technology is perfectly capable of, then all we've done is given our kids a cleaner world. But suppose they're wrong and climate change is real and we've done nothing? What kind of a planet are we going to pass on to the next generation of Americans?
Now, my take on it is similar. Matthew 25:14-30 speaks about men who use their money to make more and condemns the one who simply hid his talent. Elsewhere Scripture speaks of the concept of stewardship.
If you have read this blog for long, you pretty much know where I stand. Global Warming is a carefully calculated myth perpetrated on the public primarily by people with a dislike for all things human, people who believe we are nothing but intelligent apes who are intrinsically destructive to an earth that is more valuable than all mankind put together. Thus they talk about having a "small footprint" and other such nonsensical phrases.
Coming from the opposite standpoint, that there is a Creator who has made His will known and explicitly told man to subdue the earth (Gen. 1:28) , and by inference to make use of it.
That does not mean needlessly destroy. If and when TRULY green technologies are found and developed then there is indeed a responsibility to use those. Sadly, a large number of current so-called green technologies are, ironically, more harmful than the techs they are trying to replace. For all the noise about recycling, which is something that does indeed need worked on, the truth is...and I urge people to research this...that most recycling requires MORE energy to produce the indisputably inferior products that result.
That is a failing on the part of all of us. We should be working to establish better technologies that will reduce the strain on resources. At the same time, it is easy to go too far and insist people not take advantage of the gains made to make our lives easier.
Regardless of the genuineness of the alleged threat of global warming, the real response is simple; who does not find blue lakes, clean air, clean streets, smogless skies more attractive than filthy water, trash-strewn streets, smog that makes it hard to breathe?
So even though I find the whole myth of man-driven global warming completely ridiculous...I also think people need to overcome the ridiculous marketing and do some stewardship work.
