I fail to understand why this would be a news story. After all, to which of us has this not happened, and who would not react this way? What, you are not a mind reader and are unsure to what I refer? Let me clarify with a timeline.
Man gets hired.
In appreciation, he sends a gift of jelly desserts to his new boss.
The new boss, being rather busy, does not take the time to open them.
The newly hired man notices his gift has not been opened.
Pop quiz; you are the newly hired man; do you
A) Ask your boss why he has not opened them?
B) Quietly repossess them?
C) Take a truncheon and smash 22 office computers as a way of getting back at him for not opening our gift?
I know, I know...rhetorical question. Of course we would all choose C.
Next time maybe he can just act like a normal person and go postal...
