Customer Service the way it should be

When I went out to my car to go to lunch I had a flat tire. Grr. As quickly as possible, I installed the spare tire and drove to my local Les Schwab. As I am accustomed to from them, I received prompt attention. I had to get back to work since it had taken about 5 minutes to get to my car,20 minutes to change the tire and 10 minutes to get over there. If I left promptly I could hit a drive-thru and make it back in time. No problem, said the guy. We will have it ready for you.

I got back to work and called them to ask if they ever did tire changes on-site and how much it would cost. I told him where I worked and he said there would be no additional charge. Excellent! So I set that up. He told me it would be about 3 before they could get over to my work...and sounded apologetic! I only dropped the tire off about 11:35, I thought that was really fast. Well, he was wrong about the time.

About 1:10 they showed up and had the tire changed. Even better...not only was there no charge for showing up here...they did not charge me for the tire repair. I think this is a good time to mention these tires came with the car and were not, in fact, purchased from Les Schwab.

So they repaired a tire for free, brought it to an onsite location and put it on the car for free...and they guy did not want to take a tip!

I just wanted to take a few moments to publicly express my gratitude to the Les Schwab people for their outstanding customer service. They may have other issues but that is one thing I can take to the bank and they do indeed have my loyalty for life. My tires are one thing I do not price shop, I just go to the Schwab because of service like this.
