Teachers really have little chance to provide a good quality education these days. One friend's wife is about to quit teaching because of how she is required to perform discipline. If someone is interrupting the class she has to say, "Two people should not be speaking at once." then stop talking and wait for the interrupter to stop before resuming. Uh...yeah, that's gonna work. So it is no big surprise to me a teacher would wing a book at a student. Not only that, she was a pretty good shot because she gave him a bloody nose. Still, even I admit teachers aren't going to get away with that. I understand her being reassigned and probably suspended. I just think it is going a bit far to have this happen:

Is this last bit satire? I am tired!
There was a teacher in Longview that allegedly got fired for tipping over a desk to get a student out of it. But he says they fired him because of a previous lawsuit he had brought.
At any rate, when he gave detention, he used to make students listen to Lawrence Welk in the hopes that it would encourage them not to misbehave in the future. I thought that was hilarious. And probably effective.
