Some tests you just can't afford to fail

Most people have, at one time or another in their life, failed a test. It may have been scholastic...it may have been a driver's test...it may have been something as simple as failing another's trust...perhaps a parents by mis-behaving. Most tests, when failed, have relatively minor consequences...if you fail a test in school, typically you can retake it and, with the advanced knowledge, make some progress. A drivers test...same way. I have never heard of anyone failing it often enough to be denied a license. Your parents give you another chance. Even failed sobriety tests...people get their licenses and lives back.
So ultimately you know tests are little more than benchmarks..figuring out where you are in life in comparison to where you need to be. You always have a place to go after you take a test.
Unless, of course, the test you fail is....a gender test?
How on earth do you fail that? I would think by the time you were 8 or 10 you wouldknow quite enough about human biology to at least know if you are male or female biologically speaking. But if you are 25 when you fail your gender test...well....uh...yeah...either you are WAY TOO competitive...or your mum & pop never sat you down to explain about the birds and the bees. You know what I mean:
Parent: "See, the bees fly from flower to flower spreading pollen."
Child, very shocked expression on their face: "So...when I got stung by the bee I was actually having sex for the first time?"
