Is it a crime if you have no choice?

Long time readers might recall the grueling story of crime in which a man told his live-in girlfriend to make him a sandwich and he refused so the guy took the only option open to him...he threw a microwave at her, pounded her head into the floor, went next door to call an ambulance, learned the neighbors weren't home, returned to his home for a beer, then went to the other neighbor's to call. No matter how many times I replay the incident I cannot think of anything he could reasonably be expected to have done differently. I know when i don't get my way my first reaction is to rip a microwave out of the wall and heave it at those I (allegedly) love.
Well, now we have yet another situation showing why he did the only thing he could do.
I wasn't there so I may have to take a little creative license in reconstructing the scene. We have a 70 year old husband and a 60-something year old wife.
Wife: "Bring me a beer."
Husband: "Okay. Of course, we have no power so the fridge ain't keepin' it cold."
Wife: "Bring me a Stag you doddering old fool."

Wife: "Hey, this is warm!"
Now at this point the natural inclination would be for her to seize the microwave and launch it across the room at him. She, however, has reached an age where caber tosses, pig launches and microwave throws just aren't as feasible as they once were so she takes the only reasonable option she has...I mean, it isn't like she could get ice from somewhere or actually drink the warm beer...so OF COURSE she shot him. What else could she do? And for that they are going to prosecute her? He brought her a WARM BEER!!!!!! What was he thinking? He deserved it.
Good to see wisdom coming with age. Why, 20 years earlier she might have done something foolish like gone to the store for ice or something. It is about time we stop taking nonsense from our significant others. If they fail to follow our reasonable requests and demands I expect to see microwaves, bullets, and refrigerators flying. Take notice, world. No more will there be nonsense like us doing things for ourselves or accepting other people not always be at our beck and call. Be prompt or be microwaved, that is our new motto.

But you see, going to the store for ice wouldn't have made headlines...and she really wanted to get her name in the paper...and the NRA will probably say she was just defending herself.
