I had no idea...

Wow, who saw that one coming? I mean, the people who are pro-marijuana go out of their way to talk about the many helpful aspects of marijuana...how it "calms, soothes, relaxes". (Or, if not using euphamisms, how it removes awareness of surroundings, changes perceptions, makes unreliable). Then there are jerks, idiots, Philistines, naysayers like myself...people who say "I have seen a lot of bad things happen due to marijuana, but the next good thing I see will be the first."
Well, I am man enough to admit when I am wrong.
"New strains of highly potent cannabis are as dangerous as heroin and cocaine, and the drug can no longer be dismissed as "soft and relatively harmless", the United Nations has reported."
Now, admittedly, I am a bit hesitant to cite the U.N. as a source. My aversion to them, my laughter at their overall irrelevance and incompetence are hardly a secret. I take everything they do with a grain of salt. However, on this topic...I happen to agree with them.
"With cannabis-related health damage increasing,"
""Today the harmful characteristics of cannabis are no longer that different from those of other plant-based drugs such as cocaine and heroin," he said."
""Despite early claims to the contrary, cannabis dependence is a reality. Many people who use cannabis find it difficult to stop, even when it interferes with other aspects of their lives, and more than a million people from all over the world enter treatment for cannabis dependence each year," the report said."
So I, and the majority of people I associate with all this time. Marijuana ISNT' addictive, harmful, mind-destroying...it is in reality quite good for you. It actually HELPS your health, makes you more reliable, has no side-effects, does not adversely affect your capacity to function as a reliable, competent, and valuable member of society. How could I have missed it so badly?

editors' note: if you are just stopping by and are not familiar with me and my writing, let me point out...thee is a smurf load of sporking sarcasm in this post.
