But the elections post was #420. Why is that important? Well certain....morons, I was searching for a more offensive word there but the lexicon failed me, think any time you can reference drugs it is cool...particularly Mary Jane. Since I have never used the ganja myself, I don't find weed particularly humorous or entertaining. I prefer maintaining all my faculties and the so-called "mellowing" effect of the 420 has always seemed to be more a mind-shutting down" effect.
However, as you might tell, the lettuce has garnered several names...but one of the most popular, one that crosses over into clocks (It's 4:20! one guy at work shouts every day), the calendar (What are you doing for 4-20?) and many other venues. Late night comedians use it for easy laughs...though why a substance that screws up people's heads and, from what I have seen, destroys far more lives that any it may or may not help, is a source of humor is not clear. Nor why it is "cool" and gets cheap pops.
"So I was toking the hippie lettuce..." (pause, wild cheers from the live audience) and...
Okay, so we have established that mentioning, alluding to, commenting on, referencing, or in any other possible means mentioning marijuana is somehow considered cool and hip. Let's remember the Fonz...hip & cool does not equal intelligent. And I have no idea why it is so popular. Then again, for 200 years, rugged was signified by lighting a weed on fire and sticking it in your mouth while enjoying the rather minor side effects of lip and lung cancer, so as a people we are not noted for our wise decisions.
So yeah, there is a pointless post about the number of post the previous post was. No clue why I felt compelled to type this one, either.
