Today's dumb story idea

Jr. Woodchuckette gave me "On Writing" by Stephen King. The last couple nights I have been reading it a little bit during that twilight tme between going to bed and actually falling asleep. One of his points was great story ideas often come from two (or more) seemingly unrelated thoughts/ideas/events. Well, last night in class we were talking about Solomons' wives, David's wives, the relative power of women in Israel, the location of the high places, how many sacrifices Solomon performed and the following story idea arrived in that watermelon on top of my shoulders.
Again, the setting is the classic fantasy or swords and sorcery type thing. It would star a heroine, although a little different that your typical one. The village/countryside/nation would be dominated by a bloodthirsty dragon who demands the sacrifice of a pure maiden or he will destroy the village/countryside/nation. Okay, so far, pretty standard. However, in this village/countryside/nation, people have some sort of strange aversion to being offered up as a sacrifice, hence the young ladies of the village do their best to NOT be pure.
Our heroine, however, will be so flawed...whether appearance, character, or whatever, that she is pure, not by choice...in fact, she goes to wild extremes to become unpure...randomly throwing open her bodice when passing young males or some such nonsense...but has, alas, been unsuccessful, and the time frame for the next sacrifice is coming.
For some inexplicable reason, the idea of the last remaining "pure maiden" of the age group trying wildly to become unpure but being unsuccessful to be hugely hilarious. When this thought came unbidden to my mind in class I had to do the old bury my head in my textbook while being convulsed in laughter trick. Sadly, everyone knew I was laughing, but that just is not the sort of thought you should express in a 475/575 level history course taught by a Rabbi.
