Movie thoughts

Among my numerous other hobbies, fly by night things I want to do, and random acts of bizarreness, I tend to enjoy putting together movies. When we were in Bordonal I made more than enough tape to put somethin together, I have just been trying to think of how to do it. Last night when I was doing my run I had plenty of time to think, time spurred on by my musical selection...a bunch of Kumbia songs they recorded for me.
Well, this is what came to mind...a movie with little or no dialogue...just stuff set to the rhythm of the music. It would require a lot of work to put the right beats together...I am thinking some of the faster, harder hitting songs for some of the ocean action and of course for the various dances, maybe a slower thing for the processionals and so forth...the question is could I turn it into some sort of story that would keep people interested long enough to absorb the real impact (or what I hope the real impact) of the movie would be...the in-depth look at life in Bordonal?
Of course, first I have to figure out how to split the soundtrack. The Winmoviemaker I have not been overly impressed with, and Real Player is even worse. ULEAD has some potential but I still can't work the cuts, so every cut becomes a jarring jump cut that draws attention to itself as opposed to the seamless look I wish to create. So I guess I know my spring break project, I bet you are all jealous. :-)
