Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice

Remember those cheeseball Saturday morning cartoons? Like the Superfriends, including those superspecial twins with the telepathic connection who constantly felt compelled to touch fingers when communicating with their minds? What was that all about?
Was it a case of incest developing between our eyes? Seems unlikely considering the beautiful, Liberace inspired costumes...but...and then there was the "culturally aware" Apache Chief with the wonderful power of growing to many times his original size. Real subtle.
Yeah, see the "Apache chiefs", particularly Cochise and Geronimo were larger than life. Wherever did they come up with an idea of making Apache Chief....larger than life? Brilliant! Hope we did not stay up too late thinking of that one. Just brilliant.
Evern better was the ever recurring, deep voiced announcer overlay "Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice". That brings up an interesting question. Justice for who?
When political correctness runs amuck, this is the kind of nonsense we get. Naturally, with what was even then a fascination with Native American culture, history, and so forth, I loved Apache Chief. In retrospect, what a bit of chaff. A characer that, much like the Iron Eyes Cody litter poster campaign, fed off false assumptions, misrepresentations, and propulgated stereotypes was hardly something to emulate.
Want to hear something sadder? I still like him. Which means it is time for me to head...wait for it...I am working on Spanish next, but Meanwhile, Back at the Hall of Justice...
