Great memories of smurf

Wow. I mean, just...wow. I remember one summer when Woody, Alan, Billy and myself rolled down to Coos Bay Family Camp in my stylin and profilin Isuzu I-mark with the gold "racing stripe"...at least, it STARTED to be a racing stripe but by the time he got done tweaking it the thing covered a third of the car.
It was a great trip. We were doing typical teenage stuff like Chinese Fire Drills (boy, is that a racist name or what? But I don't know what else to call it). Of course, Alan wimped out and did none of the fire drills. Some lame excuse about surgery to his knee, being on crutches, and so forth. Whatever. At least he held the road cone in the car for like a mile.
See, there was construction going on throughout the mountains. For long stops we would get out and throw a football around, for short ones...well, I, the idea man, joked about stealing one of the cones. We were going to a church camp, mind you...well, Alan hauls one of the cones into the car, only the base was too large to fit through the window, so we are just tooling through the mountains with this construction cone half in and half out of the car. I was super nervous and kept saying for him to drop it, but of course we were all laughing. Finally he drops it because it is too heavy and almost instantly we turn the corner and there is a flagger. She couldn't have known, but it sure felt like she did. We must have moved that cone 3 or 4 miles.
One of the best parts of the trip was a stupid tape I had of comedy rappers. One of them was doing a pretty poor John Wayne imitation. Think of 4 or 5 teenage boys in a diesel powered Isuzu I-mark singing the brilliant chorus..."Da-ha da hah. Da ha ha ha ha ha." at the top of our lungs. And laughing pretty heartily.
